Hello, has anyone had any luck loading a Final Surge training plan into the Dashboard? I have tried printing the plan to PDF using both the Day List View and Calendar View, but neither produces any results after being imported. Thanks!
The plan importer reads text, not layout. It looks for a week header line such as “Week 12, 16 - 22 Mar” or “Week 3, 2026-11-02 - 2026-11-08”, then lines starting with a day name such as “Tue: 8km with 5x3min at threshold”.
A Final Surge PDF printed from the Day List or Calendar view probably has no “Week N, dates” lines and no “Day:” prefixes, so the parser finds no weeks and imports nothing. That is a likely cause, not confirmed.
Two options. Paste your next four weeks into the Training plan card on the Manage page in the format above, or save the plan as a .txt file in that format and import it. The Manage page training plan section in the guide has an example week.
If you can post the first week as plain text (copied from the PDF), I can check what the parser makes of it.

Good news: we’re adding a calendar (.ics) importer, which should handle Final Surge plans properly. To check it against a real plan, could you send two things?
-
The .ics file from Final Surge: Settings, then Calendar Sync, turn it on, open the Sync URL in a browser and save the file (if the link starts with webcal://, change it to https:// first). Please send the file itself, not the link, because the link is private to your account.
-
The PDF you tried, from Print Workouts, Day List view.
Either can be trimmed, but please keep a few weeks of workouts that are still in the future. Email them to paul@myrunningdashboard.com, or attach them here if the forum lets you.

The calendar (.ics) importer is now live. To use it:
- Open your Manage page and tap
Import plan. - Choose the .ics file you saved from Final Surge.
- Tap Use this plan.
This replaces the plan currently in your schedule grid. Your dashboard picks it up on its next update.
I tested it with the file you sent. All 31 sessions over the five weeks came through with the right dates, durations and rest days, and the weekly “Notes” entries are skipped.

Thanks, that worked like a charm! I found the FS .ics file to be unusable, but Claude cleaned it up and it worked. Great addition ![]()
